Texas Health Resources hospitals’ participation in the Premier Perinatal Safety Initiative was reported on ModernHealthcare.com. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas were among 14 hospitals that participated in the four-year initiative to reduce preventable birth injuries.

Huguley Memorial Medical Center on WFAA-TV
WFAA-TV (Ch. 8) featured a story on the sudden, unexplained death of 13-year-old Caleb Midkiff of Cleburne. Caleb’s father Mark Midkiff was driving him to a dance rehearsal in Fort Worth when Caleb suddenly went rigid and his eyes rolled back. His father took him to Huguley Memorial Medical Center, where the emergency department staff tried for two hours to revive him. Mark Midkiff said the effort to revive his son was “heroic.”
Texas Health Dallas on KXAS-TV
Dr. Mark Till, chair of emergency medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, appeared Dec. 3 on KXAS-TV (Ch. 5). Till spoke about the increase in flu cases in North Texas.
Texas Health Fort Worth on WFAA-TV
We anticipate a story on WFAA-TV (Ch. 8) will feature a patient at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth who fell off of a ladder while hanging Christmas lights. Dr. David Smith, medical director of the trauma program at Texas Health Fort Worth, was interviewed about injuries that can happen from falls and safety tips for ladder use.
