An article in this week’s Fort Worth Business Press examined growth and change in the Fort Worth health care landscape in 2012 that’s designed to meet demands of the Affordable Care Act and provide more cost-effective clinical care to a growing patient population. The article mentioned:

  • Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is working on a $57 million expansion of the emergency medicine department that will include a specialized geriatric follow-up clinic to teach elderly patients and their caregivers how to manage chronic conditions, especially those that require multiple medications, periodic blood work, follow-up appointments and special diets, and how to practice better general health habits.
  • Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance opened in September to serve the population in North Fort Worth.
  • Texas Health Resources is in the final phase of developing plans for a facility in Willow Park in eastern Parker County.
  • Effective May 1, Huguley Memorial Medical Center in South Fort Worth became part of Texas Health Resources, which now encompasses 25 acute care hospitals.

Texas Health Fort Worth in Fort Worth Business Press

Joseph DeLeon, vice president of professional services and business development at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, was featured in the Fort Worth Business Press for serving as the 2013 chair of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce board.

Texas Health Alliance on Local News Stations

A health fair held on Jan. 12 for Northwest Independent School District students at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance was mentioned on KXAS-TV (Ch. 5), KDFW-TV (Ch. 4) and KDAF-TV (Ch. 33).
