Texas Health Resources, Blue Cross Blue Shield in the News

Health care and North Texas media extensively reported Texas Health Resources’ strategic alliance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas to deliver improved, sustainable patient care and help manage costs through an accountable care organization. Texas Health CEO Doug Hawthorne and Ron Long, chief financial officer and executive vice president for resource deployment and development, were quoted. Articles appeared on ModernHealthcare.com, in The Dallas Morning News, Star-Telegram, on D Healthcare Daily, and the Dallas Business Journal and Fort Worth Business Press websites.

Texas Health Hospital Recognitions in Fort Worth Business Press

The Fort Worth Business Press reported Texas Health hospitals’ designations:

  • Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital and Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital Arlington received designations from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. Texas Health Arlington Memorial earned full Cycle IV Chest Pain Accreditation and Texas Health Heart & Vascular received full Cycle IV Chest Pain Accreditation with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
  • Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance was recognized by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society as a Stage 7 hospital for electronic health record adoption. Stage 7 represents an “advanced patient record environment” and is the final of eight stages (0-8), an honor achieved by fewer than 2 percent of U.S. hospitals.
