Texas Health Fort Worth in Local News
Several local news stations featured Officer John Bell from the Fort Worth Police Department leaving Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth as his peers saluted and cheered for him. Officer Bell was shot in the line of duty last week and was cared for in the hospital’s trauma unit. Dr. David Smith, medical director of the trauma program, was interviewed. Stories appeared on KXAS-TV (Ch. 5), KTVT-TV (Ch. 11), WFAA-TV (Ch. 8), KDFW-TV (Ch. 4), KRLD-AM (1080), and in the Star-Telegram and The Dallas Morning News.

KXAS-TV (Ch. 5) featured Dr. Gary Weinstein, a pulmonologist on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, during the 4 p.m. newscast on Feb. 7. He discussed a new procedure called bronchial thermoplasty, which is helping asthma patients nationwide breathe a little easier.
Texas Health Burleson in Burleson Star
The Feb. 6 edition of the Burleson Star included an article reporting that Texas Health Harris Methodist Outpatient Center Burleson is one of the co-sponsors for the American Cancer Society’s 2013 Relay for Life of Burleson. Texas Health Burleson Community and Physician Outreach Manager Jamie Harraid was quoted.
