This week’s Fort Worth Business Press featured Texas Health Resources and Aetna’s new accountable care agreement. The collaboration is designed to improve the quality of care for Aetna members and lower overall health care costs. The agreement, effective immediately, will include Aetna members in Dallas, Collin, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall and Tarrant counties. Doug Hawthorne, Texas Health CEO, was quoted.

D Healthcare Daily reported these Texas Health accolades on Feb. 11:

  • Texas Health Resources received the 2013 Richard A. Norling Premier Alliance Excellence Award for its leadership in accelerating care quality and cost improvements among the nation’s largest collaborative network of health systems.
  • Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall’s diabetes education program has been accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

The McKinney Courier-Gazette featured a story on Texas Health Resources’ initiative to provide behavioral healthcare and integrated wellness services at the Cooper Craig Ranch in McKinney. The services are provided by employees from Texas Health Springwood Hospital in Bedford and the Seay Behavioral Health Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. The story quoted Ramona Osburn, senior director of behavioral health for Texas Health Springwood and the Seay Behavioral Health Center.
