AMH Bariatric Coordinator to Discuss Healthy Halloween Tips on WBAP-AM
Tammy Beaumont, B.S.N., R.N., B.C., C.B.N., bariatric program coordinator at Arlington Memorial Hospital, will be sharing healthy Halloween tips on Oct. 31 at 6:20 a.m. on WBAP-AM (820). Beaumont's tips include eating a healthy meal before trick-or-treating, trading candy for fun toys, crayons or other non-food items, and donating extra candy to a local charity.
AMH, HMHEB featured in Advance for Nurses
The Springwood Program for Women at Arlington Memorial Hospital and Harris Methodist HEB Hosptial was the feature story in this week's edition of Advance for Nurses. Ramona Osburn, M.B.A., director of behavioral health at Harris Methodist Springwood Hospital, the mental health and addiction treatment facility at Harris Methodist HEB Hospital, shared how this unique program just for women can equip moms with postpartum depression with coping strategies to help them get back on the road to health.
The story also discussed the important role postpartum and breastfeeding support nurses play in identifing moms who may be struggling with postpartum depression. Linda Woodson, R.N., B.S.N., manager of mother/baby and women's services at Arlington Memorial Hospital, and Laura Burnett, R.N., B.S.N., IBCLC, nursing supervisor of the Harris Methodist HEB Hospital Breastfeeding Support Center shared their insight into the importance of early intervention.
