Texas Health Resources’ strategic alliance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas to deliver improved, sustainable patient care and help manage costs through an accountable care organization was featured in the current edition of Interlocutor, the publication of the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council.

The 2013 Greer Garson Gala, which will help support women and infants’ services at the Margot Perot Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was featured in Bob Miller's column in Feb. 26 editions of The Dallas Morning News. This year’s gala is themed “An Evening in Cannes” and will feature a mock casino, silent auction and entertainment by Hunter Sullivan. The annual fundraiser is sponsored by the Texas Health Presbyterian Foundation.

The story of Mary Campise, who was treated for a near-fatal blood clot at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was detailed in the Healthy Living section of The Dallas Morning News. Surgeons at Texas Health Dallas successfully removed a massive deep vein thrombosis from her leg and abdomen.

Texas Health Fort Worth on KDFW-TV

We anticipate a story on KDFW-TV (Ch. 4) will feature an interview with Dr. Robin Skrine, medical director of the breast health program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, on a new study that shows an increase in the incidence of advanced breast cancer in younger women. Skrine discussed the advantages of 3D mammography in detecting breast cancer in younger patients. Deetria Horne, a 36-year-old breast cancer survivor, was also interviewed.

Texas Health Plano on NBCDFW.com

NBCDFW.com featured a story about a former NICU patient at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano coming back to visit the nurses on the unit. The patient’s dad made a YouTube video thanking the nurses. Veronica Schaedler, a lactation consultant, was interviewed, along with the family.
