Texas Health Resources, Texas Health Partners in Dallas Business Journal

A story in the Dallas Business Journal highlighted a program that lets high school students work summer internships at Dallas-area companies. Students in the program get a range of experiences, including shadowing physicians with Texas Health Resources. One student featured in the article has worked as an intern for Texas Health Partners since summer 2011. He has been in the operating room during surgeries, shadowed physicians and currently is working in human resources.

Texas Health Fort Worth on Local News

We anticipate stories to appear on local news stations about the staff at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth celebrating the 101st birthday of the hospital’s oldest volunteer, Mooney McBurney. KXAS-TV (Ch. 5), KDFW-TV (Ch. 4), KDAF-TV (Ch. 33), and WFAA-TV (Ch. 8) covered the story. Lillie Biggins, hospital president, and McBurney were interviewed.

Texas Health Plano on KRLD-AM

Dr. Vijay Ramanath, an interventional cardiologist on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, was interviewed recently on KRLD (1080 AM) news radio. Ramanath talked about the warning signs of a heart attack and what other conditions can cause chest pain. The story was tied to Texas Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz, who was pulled from a recent practice after complaining of chest pain. Team officials said the discomfort was caused by a muscle strain.
