DMN, Star-Telegram feature opinion pieces on Texas Health, Harvard School of Public Health study

Today’s print editions of The Dallas Morning News (p. 27A) and Star-Telegram (p. 8A) feature an opinion piece submitted by Texas Health Resources on public discussion of a research study by Texas Health and the Harvard School of Public Health that examined how potentially preventable surgical complications impact hospital finances. The opinion piece, written by Barclay Berdan, chief operating officer, and Dr. Daniel Varga, chief clinical officer, emphasizes Texas Health’s investment in the safe surgery program and other quality initiatives aimed at reducing inpatient complications, reducing hospital readmission and proactively addressing preventable health problems.
