Texas Health Fort Worth’s Dr. Smith featured in local news stories on Christmas decorating safety

Dr. David Smith, medical director of the trauma program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, was featured on the front page of Star-Telegram’s Metro section Friday in an article on safety while hanging holiday decorations. Lewis Schwartz, a patient who fell 10 feet off a ladder last year and was treated in Texas Health Fort Worth’s trauma unit, was also interviewed for the story. View the article here. Texas Health HEB’s 40th birthday celebration in Dallas Morning News

The Dallas Morning News today included a brief on Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford’s recent celebration of its 40th birthday. The article noted that Texas Health HEB first baby Jason Matthews participated in a cake cutting and was joined at the event by his mother, Deborah Butler, and Dr. Roy Turner, former hospital chief of staff and medical staff obstetrician who helped deliver Matthews in 1973.

Texas Health Dallas physicians featured on KDAF-TV

Drs. Naveen Sikka and Nastaran Safdarian, both allergists on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, discussed a new penicillin test available to patients. The story aired during the alternative medicine segment on KDAF (Ch. 33). According to health experts, approximately 30 million people claim to be allergic to penicillin but what this simple test finds is that’s likely not the case. Click here to view the story.
