Arlington Memorial Hospital recently donated two automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to Grand Prairie Independent School District as a part of Texas Health Resources' "Gift from the Heart" program celebrating our new brand. The donation was recently featured in Grand Prairie Today. Quoted in the story was Kirk King, FACHE, president of Arlington Memorial Hospital, who shared the importance of living our mission in our community. Pictured presenting the donation to the school district was Larry Olive, AMH vice president of operations.

PHK in The Terrell Tribune

The Terrell Tribune featured news from Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman’s mammography department that it was recently reaccredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services. The story also mentioned the department has expanded its mammography hours on Monday to better accommodate patients. Patsy Youngs, president of Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman, and Teresa Grimes, radiology director, were quoted.

Springwood Program for Women in NurseWeek

The Springwood Program for Women, an intensive outpatient program just for women with hormone-related depression, is featured in NurseWeek magazine. The program is offered at Harris Methodist HEB Hosptial, Arlington Memorial Hospital, and the new Springwood Center at Southwest Fort Worth. Quoted in the story are Ramona Osburn, MBA, director of Harris Methodist Springwood Hospital, and Laura Burnett, R.N., B.S.N., nursing supervisor for the Breastfeeding Support Center at Harris Methodist HEB Hosptial.

PHD's Harris in The Dallas Morning News

The front page of the Dec. 8 GuideDaily section of The Dallas Morning News featured a story about the new book that looks into the life, times and mind of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. The book, Salomon Grimberg's Frida Kahlo: Song of Herself, includes a chapter by Dr. Jim Harris, a psychologist on the medical staff at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Harris writes about Kahlo's struggles with depression, substance abuse and other mental health issues. His assessment is based on psychological testing she voluntarily underwent before her death 1954.
