Arlington Memorial Hospital recently opened a new Center for Diabetes Self-Management Education to provide much-needed community education about type one, type two, pre-diabetes and gestational diabetes. The new center was featured in this week's Fort Worth Business Press. Demand has been so great, the center's assessment schedule is completely booked through the end of the year.
PHD's Levine Featured in Marathon Stories
Dr. Benjamin Levine, director of the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, was recently quoted in an Associated Press story about a 63-year-old runner who ran his world-record 105th marathon this year at the Dallas White Rock Marathon. Levine said a body's ability to handle high-mileage running depends largely on the structure of muscles, bones and joints and the runner's gait, or style. The story appeared in the San Antonio Express-News and on dozens of Web sites, including USAToday.com, dallasnews.com and chron.com.
