The announcement that Texas Health Resources’ CEO Doug Hawthorne will lead the March of Dimes 2009 March for Babies in Dallas and Fort Worth was featured in the local media. KTVT-TV (Channel 11) and KDAF-TV (Channel 33) reported on Wednesday’s announcement at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen. KRLD-AM (1080) aired a story and the Allen American quoted Hawthorne and a family whose twins were born prematurely at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. Mullen and Cathy Napier, former director of Texas Health Dallas' chemical dependency program, wrote Swinging Door of Addiction: A Spiritual Guide to Recovery about their research findings, which showed that the seemingly successful treatment of a patient's primary addiction often fed the growth of another, hidden addiction.
