Texas Health CEO on KDFW-TV

Doug Hawthorne, CEO of Texas Health Resources, was expected to be featured on the KDFW-TV (Channel 4) on Feb. 6 for his chairmanship of the 2009 March for Babies. Hawthorne was interviewed at the Dallas kickoff for the event about his involvement and the importance of the April 18 March for Babies event.

Texas Health Prayer Books on KCBI-FM

John Engelhard, senior chaplain for Texas Health Resources, was featured in an interview on KCBI-FM (90.9) that aired on Feb. 6. He talked about the new Prayer Books offered at all Texas Health hospitals.

Texas Health HEB on KXAS-TV, KTVT-TV

We anticipate seeing a story on KXAS-TV (Channel 5) about Lyn Snyder, 38, who survived a massive heart attack. Snyder is the wife of Channel 5 anchor, Mike, and received her life-saving care at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford. Pat Paprocki, cardiac rehab coordinator at Texas Health Hurst-Euless-Bedford was interviewed for this story.

We also anticipate seeing a story about the "Go Red for Women" program at Texas Health HEB on KXAS-TV and KTVT-TV (Channel 11). Babies in the nursery were swaddled in red blankets and nurses were wearing red. Donna Winburne, a heart attack survivor treated at the hospital, was interviewed.

Texas Health Dallas Allergist on KXAS-TV

Dr. Gary Gross, head of the allergy/immunology program at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, appeared on the KXAS-TV (Channel 5) news on Feb. 5. Gross said high levels of mountain cedar and dust are causing allergy problems for thousands of North Texans.

Texas Health Stephenville in Stephenville Empire-Tribune

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville's employee of the year, Virginia Acuna, and manager of excellence, Danny Decker, were featured in the Stephenville Empire-Tribune. The story quoted both individuals and hospital president Christopher Leu.

Texas Health Plano in Press Ganey's National Magazine

Press Ganey featured a four-page article on Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano's success at employee engagement as the foundation of patient-centered care in the January/February issue of its Partners magazine. The story includeed a Q&A with Phil Wentworth, president, and Deborah Diehl, director of human resources, and a photo.
