Texas Health Dallas Statin Paper in National Publications

Researchers at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas recently published a paper in the journal Thyroid. The scientists found that cholesterol-lowering statins, used daily by millions of Americans to treat and prevent atherosclerosis, may falsely indicate thyroid problems in some patients. Their findings could help physicians make quicker, more accurate diagnoses of suspected thyroid problems and may help scientists learn more about how statins affect different systems in the body.
