PHD cardiologist featured on KDFW-TV
Dr. Darryl Kawalsky, a cardiologist on the medical staff at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, was featured in a medical story on June 18 on KDFW-TV (Channel 4). Dr. Kawalsky told reporter John Hammarly that the death of political analyst Tim Russert has raised awareness about heart disease and convinced more people to go see their doctors for checkups. Dr. Kawalsky said one of the keys to saving a person's life during an acute heart attack is to provide interventional cardiac care within 90 minutes.

HMHEB’s Food Drive Olympics featured in Star-Telegram
Harris Methodist HEB Hospital’s latest Food Drive fundraiser, the Director’s Olympics, was held on June 18 to much fanfare. Employee donors choose Lee Mulvey, HR; Jeannie Parsley, physical medicine and rehab; Alice Landers, administration; Jennifer Williams, women’s services; Kim Barnard, anesthesia; and Olympic champion Ed Brown, nutrition services; as this year’s contenders. They tossed water balloons, got covered in chocolate pudding, threw on surgical garb and hula hooped to raise money for the Food Drive. The Star-Telegram was there to capture the action, including a photo of Mulvey in his surgical outfit.
