Lisa Smith, a bariatric surgery patient at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, appeared in an Aug. 18 KDAF-TV (Channel 33) news report about how weight loss surgery improved her severe obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. David Plump, pulmonologist on the medical staff, was interviewed about a recent study that determined sleep apnea increases death risk by 46 percent.
