Texas Health Resources Prodigy Program on KDAF-TV

KDAF-TV (Channel 33) aired a story during its 9 p.m. newscast on Sept. 21 about the Texas Health Resources Prodigy Program, an education and employment opportunity for high school graduates interested in pursuing careers in health care. Bonnie Bell, executive vice president of People & Culture, was interviewed. Cole Carrillo, PCT, a patient care technician at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth and a student in the Prodigy program, also appeared in the story.

Texas Health Kaufman in The Kaufman Herald

The current edition of The Kaufman Herald included a story about laparoscopic hysterectomies at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman. The story highlighted the work of Dr. Michael Glover, an OB-GYN on the Texas Health Kaufman medical staff, who was first to perform the procedure at the hospital. The story also included interviews with radiology manager Teresa Grimes, a patient of Glover’s, and Susan Stone, R.N., CNOR, director of surgical services.

Texas Health Dallas Orthopedic Surgeon in The Dallas Morning News

The Sept. 22 Healthy Living section of The Dallas Morning News included an item about the upcoming Advances in Medicine presentation with Dr. Douglas Turgeon, an orthopedic surgeon on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. Turgeon, who also specializes in sports medicine, will discuss types of joint problems, causes of these conditions and treatment options. The event will be Tuesday, Sept. 29.

The Sept. 22 Advances in Medicine lecture at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano was mentioned in the community calendar at, the Web site for the Collin County Business Press. The lecture, titled "Women's Lunch & Learn," focused on key midlife health issues women face.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen is featured on regarding its launching of the electronic health record throughout the hospital last summer. Hospital President Sheila McKinney and Shelly Cave, manager of innovative technology solutions, were quoted.
