Harris Methodist Northwest Hospital is featured in this week’s edition of the Azle News in a story about the hospital’s effort to help clean up Ash Creek, which runs behind the hospital. Buster Doherty, engineering supervisor at HMNW, was photographed in the story and recognized for his efforts to help remove old tires that have caused the creek to flood.

PHD's Weinstein on KRLD-AM

The July 2 afternoon news on KRLD-AM (1080) included a story about the increasing rates of lung disease, including lung cancer, in the United States. The story was based on a report published by the American Lung Association. Pulmonologist Dr. Gary Weinstein, chief of critical care medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, was the featured medical expert.

NurseWeek highlights work by PHD's Burns

Brandi Burns, R.N., ICU clinical coordinator at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, is highlighted in the June 30 issue of NurseWeek magazine. The article takes an in-depth look at rapid response teams. Burns helped establish the RRT program at PHD. Since it's inception two years ago, the system has helped reduce out-of-ICU codes.
