Dr. Tony Das, an interventional cardiologist at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, was the medical expert in a July 9 story on KTVT-TV (Channel 11) about Dallas firefighter Jeff Davis, who recently suffered a heart attack before being rescued by another firefighter. Dr. Das performed a cardiac catheterization procedure this week on Davis to open and then stent a totally clogged heart artery.
PHD's Perot Center celebration on KRLD-AM
July 9 marked the 25th anniversary of the Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, the first hospital in the region dedicated exclusively to women and newborns when it opened in 1983. In honor of the event, PHD gave all new moms at the center a dozen sterling roses yesterday. In addition to two TV stories, the anniversary was featured on KRLD-AM (1080).
HMFW and Pemberton in ADVANCE for Nurses magazine
A research study about the effects of clinical aromatherapy relieving the stress of ICU nurses at Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital, conducted by Erin Pemberton, BSN, R.N., CPAN, LMT, CCAP, ICU nurse, was published in this month’s edition of ADVANCE for Nurses magazine. More than 57 percent of the nurses surveyed reported a decrease in perceived stress levels after using the essential oils.
