PHD Pulmonologists Use New Diagnostic Technology
Pulmonologists at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas are the first in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to use a new type of bronchoscopy that utilizes global positioning-like technology to generate 3-D images of the far reaches of complex lung structures. This electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy is expected to help pulmonologists better diagnose lung cancer, pneumonia and various pulmonary infections. Stories with comments from PHD pulmonologists Dr. Suneel Kumar, Dr. Howard Mintz and Dr. Gary Weinstein, chief of critical care medicine, have appeared in Medical Device Daily and on Web sites for RedOrbit.com, StreetInsider.com and MTBEurope.com, a medical technology site.
