Texas Health Allen, Texas Health Plano in Collin County Business Press

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano were mentioned this week in the Collin County Business Press’ “People” column for the “Great 100 Nurses” named to the 2010 list from each hospital. Texas Health Allen has two nurses on the list: Kathy Ford and Denise Pisoni. Six nurses were included from Texas Health Plano: Veronica Cargo, Lynda Doell, Cathy Dyke, Sue Goddard, Catherine Head and Kristin Whitehead.

The column also included a story about Texas Health Allen’s nuclear medicine department receiving national accreditation from the American College of Radiology.

Texas Health Springwood in ADVANCE for Nurses

Debbie Sweat, nurse manager of Texas Health Springwood Hospital was interviewed about antidepressants and depression in the latest issue of ADVANCE for Nurses.

Texas Health HEB in ADVANCE for Nurses

The Oncology Care Unit at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford was named 2010 Best Nursing Team and was profiled in a cover story in the latest issue of ADVANCE for Nurses. ADVANCE for Nurses also created a webcast about the Texas Health HEB team.

Texas Health Fort Worth in Mature Texan Magazine

Dr. Alvin Mathe, medical director of the palliative care unit at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, authored an article in this month's issue of Mature Texan magazine about the differences between palliative care and hospice care.
