Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital was featured on KXAS-TV (Channel 5) at 10 p.m. on July 29 and at 6 a.m. on July 30 in a story about preventing boating and wakeboarding injuries. The story focused on a 19-year-old patient who fell while wakeboarding and later underwent brain surgery to remove a blood clot. David Smith, M.D., medical director of the trauma program at HMFW, also was interviewed for the story.
HMSW's Sickle Cell Initiative Featured in Hospital Case Management
Linda Humphries, clinical nurse specialist and Betsy Lowry, manager of quality at Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital were featured in a recent issue of Hospital Case Management magazine in an article that discusses the sickle cell task force and city-wide collaboration. In the article, Humphries and Lowry discuss the gap in care for adults with sickle cell disease.
