Texas Health Allen on WFAA-TV

WFAA-TV (Ch. 8) reported on Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen becoming the first hospital in Collin County to begin collecting cord blood for the Texas Cord Blood Bank, a nonprofit program established by the Texas Legislature in 2001. The story also appeared online in the San Antonio Business Journal, and Texas Health Allen was the 15th hospital in the state to join the network.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano’s new SpineAssist surgical robot was featured in a front-page story in the Allen American and on KVOA-TV (Ch. 4) in Tucson, Ariz.

Texas Health Dallas in Nurse Week

Nurse Week magazine included a story about the new Web-based system at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas that wireless transmits EKGs directly from paramedics in the field to the hospital, allowing clinicians to prepare for heart-attack patients before they arrive at the hospital. Paula Spencer, RN, CEN, ED, clinical supervisor and chest pain coordinator at Texas Health Dallas, was quoted.
