Dr. Donna Casey, an internist on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was quoted in an Aug. 27 front-page story in The Dallas Morning News. The story looked at high-school athletes who practice Ramadan, a Muslim tradition that instructs believers to abstain from all food and liquids from sunrise to sunset. Casey spoke about how athletes can eat and drink at night to stay safely hydrated and nourished during workouts.
