A 10-pound baby born at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth at 10 a.m. on 10/10/10 was featured on local news stations. Baby Elijah Perry and his parents were highlighted on KXAS-TV (Ch. 5), KTVT-TV (Ch. 11), WFAA-TV (Ch. 8), KDFW-TV (Ch. 4), KDAF-TV (Ch. 33), and in the Star-Telegram. The story also ran Oct. 11 on KXAS-TV and WFAA-TV. Dr. Stacy Colombo, OB/GYN on the medical staff, was interviewed.

Texas Health Dallas on WRR-FM

Dr. John Harper, a cardiologist on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and medical director of the hospital’s inpatient heart and vascular program, was the featured guest on “Art Matters” on WRR-FM (101.1). The program highlighted “Intersections: Literature and Medicine,” a conference that will explore compassion and science at the bedside. The event, to be held Oct. 15 at Texas Health Dallas, will feature nationally renowned physicians and writers discussing how the written word influences the science of medicine. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their professional roles and experiences through plays, shorts stories, poetry, fiction and personal narratives.

Texas Health Plano on Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano’s new SpineAssist surgical robot, one of three in the U.S. and the only one in Texas, was featured in a story on Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine website. Robot co-designer Dr. Isador Lieberman, an orthopedic and spinal surgeon on the medical staff at Texas Health Plano and the Texas Back Institute, and Texas Health Plano President Dr. Jeffrey Canose were quoted.
