The Dallas Morning News included an article in its Nov. 17 editions on Texas Health Resources hospitals receiving $510,000 from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for high performance in a national quality incentive project. Texas Health hospitals earned 70 awards for delivering high quality care in six clinical areas in the Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration, sponsored by CMS and the Premier health care alliance. Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano received more than $113,000 in awards, the largest award for Texas Health hospitals. Texas Health CEO Doug Hawthorne was quoted.
Texas Health Dallas on KRLD-AM, KDAF-TV
Dr. Mark Till, chief of emergency medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was interviewed on KRLD-AM (1080) and KDAF-TV (Ch. 33). Till spoke about the potential dangers of drinking Four Loko, a caffeinated alcoholic drink popular among teens and young adults. The FDA is investigating the product after reports of medical emergencies, including deadly overdoses, associated with the drink.
