KXAS-TV (Ch. 5), WFAA-TV (Ch. 8) and WBAP-AM (820) reported on the Dec. 3 groundbreaking ceremony for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance. Winjie Tang Miao, president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle and project executive champion, was interviewed.

Texas Health Resources in Local Papers

This week’s Fort Worth Business Press noted that Dr. Ferdinand Velasco, chief medical information officer at Texas Health Resources, was named one of the Top 25 Clinical Informaticists in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare, and that Deborah Paganelli, FACHE, president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford, has been named treasurer of the HEB Chamber of Commerce’s 2011 Executive Committee. Velasco’s recognition was also included in Dec. 5 editions of the Star-Telegram.

Texas Health Dallas in Nurse Week

Two nursing programs at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas were featured in the current edition of Nurse Week magazine. The article highlighted Texas Health Dallas' new sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) program and a research project aimed at improving mom-and-baby bonding immediately after birth. The story included a comment from Jeannette Crenshaw, R.N., M.S.N., LCCE, IBCLC, NEA-BC, a family educator at Texas Health Dallas and lead investigator of the skin-to-skin contact study. The SANE section included a quote from Loren Larkin, R.N., B.S.N., a nurse educator in the Texas Health Dallas ER and director of the program.

Texas Health Arlington Memorial in Fort Worth Business Press

This week’s Fort Worth Business Press highlighted two scholarships at the University of Texas in Arlington established by Dr. Ignacio Nunez, OB/GYN on the medical staff at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital.

Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth in Fort Worth Business Press

This week’s Fort Worth Business Press announced Fraser Hay, FACHE, had been appointed the new administrative director at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth.

Texas Health Plano on Nurse.com

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano was featured on Nurse.com. The hospital’s 30-Minute Promise was named a best practice in patient safety by the Texas State Board of Nursing and their monthly newsletter featured an article about ED throughput and patient safety written by Michele Webb, B.S.N., R.N., performance improvement project manager at Texas Health Plano. Webb was quoted.
