The current issue of Healthcare Executive included comments from Ed Marx, Texas Health Resources chief information officer, in an article on the increasing use of wireless and digital technology in health care. Marx discussed Texas Health’s innovations such as remote health monitoring, real-time locating system, access to the electronic health record and ability to obtain a list of area emergency departments with a smart phone.
Texas Health Dallas on KTVT-TV
Meg Tompkins, R.N., a nurse in the special care nursery at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, appeared on a KTVT-TV (Ch. 11) newscast. Tompkins talked about advances in the care of premature and low birth-weight babies that have helped survival rates improve over the years. The story focused on baby Khloei Hayes, who was born at Texas Health Dallas in October, and finally went home on Jan. 15.
