Cole Edmonson, M.S., R.N., FACHE, NEA-BC, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, wrote a feature article for a recent edition of Executive Insight magazine. The article looked into the causes of fatigue among nurses and how to best ensure caregivers are properly rested and ready for the rigors of their shifts when they get to work.

This week’s Fort Worth Business Press mentioned that The American Academy of Nursing named Kathy Baker, research consultant and clinical nurse specialist at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, one of its 1,500 fellows out of roughly 3 million nurses nationwide.

KXAS-TV (Ch. 5) reported that Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine is participating in research on sports concussions. The research involving young athletes could lead to better monitoring of concussions, and, ultimately, better treatment.
