New Heart Hospital, Texas Health Arlington Memorial in Dallas Morning News

An article in Feb. 9 editions of The Dallas Morning News highlighted Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital Arlington, a new dedicated heart hospital on the campus of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. Texas Health Dallas in Dallas Morning News

Dr. Jorge Cheirif, chief of cardiology at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was quoted in a recent Healthy Living story in The Dallas Morning News. The story looked at risk factors for heart disease and how doctors use family history to manage patients’ heart health.

Dr. James Park, an interventional cardiologist on the medical staff at Texas Health Dallas, was also quoted in The Newsheart health special section. Park spoke about how effective statins are and how they’ve have changed the way many doctors treat heart disease.

Texas Health Dallas Nurse in Oncology Publication

Pat Kelly, DNP, APRN, CNS, AOCN®, nursing research/evidence-based practice facilitator and genomics consultant at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was featured in a recent edition of ONS Connect, a national oncology nursing magazine. She talked about what oncology nurses need to know about genetics and genomics.

Amy Goodson, registered dietitian at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, was interviewed live on KTVT-TV (Ch. 11) for a Feb. 8 story about whether eating a big breakfast will curb your appetite during lunch and dinner.

Dr. David Smith, medical director of the trauma program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, was interviewed by KTVT about the number of falls the hospital has seen in the past week due to the ice. In preparation for the icy weather, Smith offered some injury prevention tips on how to stay safe and prevent falls.

Texas Health Denton in Denton Record-Chronicle

The Denton Record-Chronicle included Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton in an article on the effects of last week’s winter weather on provider patient volumes. Hospital spokeswoman Elizabeth Long was quoted.
