Dr. John Bertrand, an OB-GYN on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was interviewed on KTVT-TV (Ch. 11) and KRLD-AM (1080) on March 5. Bertrand spoke about a new blood test for Down’s syndrome that could replace the invasive amniocentesis procedure. Researchers say the new test eliminates the risk of miscarriage by looking at fetal DNA that is present in the mother’s bloodstream.
