The cover story in the May issue of Healthcare Informatics quoted Dr. Ferdinand Velasco, Texas Health Resources chief medical information officer, on physician documentation associated with the electronic health record.

Two performance improvement initiatives at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford were featured in a story on AMNHealthcare.com. Cory Franks, R.N., B.S.N., a patient care facilitator, designed a performance improvement project around CareConnect, and Karen Robertson, R.N., B.S.N, surgical care improvement project coordinator, worked with a team that created a performance improvement project around Foley catheters. Kristin Duncan, R.N. B.S.N., M.B.A., director of quality management at Texas Health HEB, was quoted about the role of nursing in performance improvement.
