Joan Clark, D.N.P., RN, NEA-BC, CENP, FACHE, FAAN, senior vice president and chief nurse executive for Texas Health Resources, and Cole Edmonson, D.N.P., R.N., FACHE, NEA-BC, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, were quoted in the current issue of Nurses Lounge. The article talked about a new national trend in higher education for nurse leaders, the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Three Texas Health Resources nurse executives recently earned their D.N.P. degree: Clark, Edmonson, and June Marshall, D.N.P., R.N., NEA-BC, director of advancing professional nursing practice at Texas Health Dallas.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas was featured in The Dallas Morning News. The Aug. 2 article explored a number of studies that support that getting enough sleep is vital for overall health. Dr. Andrew Jamieson, a physician and sleep medicine specialist on the medical staff at Texas Health Dallas, was interviewed.

The July issue of Outpatient Surgery magazine featured Texas Institute for Surgery in an article on the use of wireless video in the operating room. Drs. James Montgomery and Robert Scheinberg, orthopedic surgeons on the medical staff, were interviewed.

We anticipate a story on WFAA-TV (Ch. 8) will feature a pilot program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth involving a robotic delivery system that brings nurses supplies and medication. Gretchen Hunt, M.S.N., R.N., ACNS- BC, the hospital’s director of critical care, progressive care, and medical/surgical units, and Brooke Brumley, L.V.N., TUG concierge, were interviewed.
