Dr. Mark Pool, a cardiothoracic surgeon on the medical staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was expected to appear in a Dec. 21 story on KXAS-TV (Ch. 5). The story focused on the medical journey of a North Texas mom who suffered a dissecting aorta after giving birth to her daughter. The potentially deadly tear in her aorta was complicated by a tear in her left main coronary artery. Pool, Texas Health Dallas nurses and other physicians on the hospital’s medical staff successfully diagnosed and repaired the dissection. Mom and baby are now healthy and back home.
