AMH PACU Nurse and Staff Grace Cover of Nurses' Lounge
Arlington Memorial Hospital PACU nurse Sharon Thorwald, R.N., C.A.P.A., along with unit secretary Fannie Lindsey, recently helped save the life of PACU co-worker Alicia Garza and were featured in Nurses' Lounge. When Garza called in sick, Lindsey quickly realized that she needed medical help and summoned Thorwald to the phone. Thorwald then instructed Garza to call 911 immediately, and quick treatment in the AMH ED and rehab have helped Garza get her health back.
Springwood Program for Women Featured on Nurse.com
Harris Methodist Springwood Hospital, the mental health and addiction treatment facility at Harris Methodist HEB Hospital, recently opened the Springwood Program for Women at HMHEB and AMH. The program will also be available in the southwest Fort Worth area in the next few weeks. Nurse.com, the companion Web site of NurseWeek magazine, features a story on the Springwood Program for Women. HMFW Mobile Medical Units Featured in Super Rod Magazine
Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital's mobile medical units are featured in an article in Super Rod magazine about "Cruisin' For A Cure," the world's largest one-day charity and auto show event that includes free prostate cancer screenings. PHD Oncology Program Recognized by NurseWeek Magazine
NurseWeek magazine recently noted that Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas has received the highest accreditation for comprehensive cancer programs from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. PHD received commendations in all nine categories for a community hospital to be designated an approved cancer center by the commission. The story also appears on nurse.com. Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation’s annual fundraising event, the Greer Garson Gala, as well as Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and Texas Health Resources, are featured in a Dallas Morning News column by Bob Miller. The Gala benefits Parkinson's disease research at PHD. THR will match the event’s net proceeds of more than $100,000 dollar for dollar, furthering the contributions to the cause.
