'The Business of Health Care Report'

Strengthening the THR Brand

I’m Doug Hawthorne, CEO of Texas Health Resources, with “The Business of Health Care Report.”

As part of our 10-Year Strategic Focus, we have been looking at ways to better align our four brands – Texas Health Resources, Arlington Memorial, Harris Methodist and Presbyterian. We wanted to:

Help consumers understand the depth and breadth of our capabilities across North Texas, and

Strengthen the ties among the physicians who practice on the medical staff, our employees, volunteers, and other stakeholders.

We did extensive research with our four brand names and approximately 2,000 other possible names. Market research showed that the name that resonated most with our stakeholders and consumers is “Texas Health.”

The Texas Health Resources name is already well-established within the health care industry with our business partners, vendors and others.

“Texas Health” will become the prominent, unifying name, signaling to the public that the three brand names they have known for decades are all in the same family.

Over the next several months, we will begin the transition to establishing Texas Health as a trusted name for quality health care among the general public. By this time next year, the names Texas Health Presbyterian, Texas Health Harris Methodist and Texas Health Arlington Memorial will become prominent across North Texas on everything from our facilities to our communications.
