Leaders “go first” — that is exactly what the word “leader” means.
Texas Health is “going first” — leading the way to improving employee health, well-being and performance excellence.
As one of the largest employers in North Texas, we are making a positive impact on the health of our communities by improving the well-being of the employees of Texas Health and their families — more than 34,000 people.
The National Business Group on Health recognized Texas Health as a Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyles. The American Heart Association designated Texas Health as a Fit Friendly employer. The Dallas Business Journal named Texas Health number one on the 2013 list of Healthiest Employers.
As part of our “BeHealthy” program, Texas Health teamed up with the Cooper Clinic to launch a program called “Fit to Lead” that is an education and well-being improvement initiative for Texas Health managers.
The program provides research-based education about individual health and its connection to productivity and performance as a leader. Our leadership will participate in this program to demonstrate that we are willing to “go first” as leaders.
Texas Health has learned a great deal about improving the well-being of our employees. We’re using what we’ve learned to develop programs to help other employers improve the well-being of their employees.
