I’m Doug Hawthorne, CEO of Texas Health Resources, with “The Business of Health Care Report.”
As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to give special thanks to the people of Texas Health Resources for bringing life to our slogan, “healing hands and caring hearts.” You are what makes Texas Health a great place to work and a great place for patients to come for care.
The Dallas Morning News named Texas Health one of the “Top 100 Places to Work” in DFW. The Dallas Business Journal selected our organization for its list of the “Best Places to Work.” Several of our joint venture facilities were also honored as great places to work by Modern Healthcare magazine.
Being recognized as a “best workplace” tells us that our employees are highly engaged. We believe that employee engagement has a direct impact on the quality of patient care and patient satisfaction.
As the largest employer in the DFW area, Texas Health believes that a simple “thank you” can have a very positive impact on enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction. So we strive to make “thanks-giving” a part of every day by recognizing the good work that our employees and co-workers do.
To everyone in Texas Health and to all of our community partners and physicians on our medical staff — thank you for making our organization a place where people feel valued and engaged!
For our faith-based health system — Texas Health Presbyterian, Texas Health Harris Methodist and Texas Health Arlington Memorial — I’m Doug Hawthorne.
