With the arrival of fall, many people are getting caught up in the excitement of football, back-to-school functions, and choosing which employee benefits to select for 2008.
Benefits enrollment time is here for many companies. It is well worth the time and effort for employees to adequately consider and plan their health insurance options. Remind your employees that the cheapest plan is not always the best. Accidents and illnesses are never planned – they just happen. The right health insurance can make those unexpected events less stressful.
Some companies hold a special health week and have a different event each day to acquaint employees with different benefits-related programs. Decisions about benefits are very important, and companies can help their employees choose the plans that best fit the needs of their families.
Advise your employees to take time to research their options and determine which coverage will match the needs they anticipate in 2008.
For example, will you need any kind of surgery next year? Will your kids need the care of a particular specialist? Are your drug costs increasing? Do you have a college student who needs health insurance coverage?
It’s important to have the right plan in place to help keep your employees healthy and cared-for in the coming year.
