Healthy, Happy Feet As you put away your flip-flops this summer and forget about your vacation at the beach, remember that foot care is just as important during the winter.
Here are a few healthy habits from Thi Pham, D.P.M., podiatrist on the medical staff at Presbyterian Hospital of Winnsboro, to keep your feet happy this winter:
• Clean your feet daily with warm water and mild soap.
• Inspect your feet regularly for cuts, blisters or swelling. Notify your physician if you have a wound that doesn’t heal after two weeks.
• Moisturize your feet with lotion. (Avoid the area between your toes where fungus can form).
• Always wear shoes and thick, seamless socks to protect your feet from injury. |
