Railroad Crossing Closures Create Limited Access to Texas Health Arlington Memorial 01/10/2013
ARLINGTON, Texas — Railroad crossing closures throughout Arlington, beginning Thursday, Jan. 17, will create limited access to north and south areas of the city. This includes employees, patients and visitors traveling to and from Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital.
Interstate 820, Green Oaks Boulevard, Fielder Road, State Highway 360 and State Highway 161 are the only unrestricted north and south thoroughfares that will remain open for the duration the project. Please adjust your travel accordingly.
The project is expected to be completed by Thursday, Jan. 24. However, all closures and dates are subjected to change.
The first phase of the Union Pacific Railroad Renewal Project will force the simultaneous closings of railroad crossings between Bowen Road and Mesquite Street. As the project moves east toward Dallas, crossings will open as others are closed. The map below features north and south thoroughfares that will remain open for the duration of the project since the railroad is either under or over the thoroughfare.
Phase 1: Bowen, Davis, Cooper, Center and Mesquite crossings will close. Collins and Stadium crossings will remain open.
Phase 2: Bowen crossing will open. Collins crossing will close.
Phase 3: Davis crossing will open. Stadium crossing will close.
