Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth Earns Consumer Choice Award for 16th Consecutive Year|
FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth area residents once again named Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth a leader in health care, voting the hospital highest in quality and image in the annual National Research Corporation’s survey and 2011-2012 Consumer Choice Awards.
National Research Corporation recognizes hospitals annually based on consumer perceptions on attributes such as best doctors, best nurses, best overall quality and best image and reputation. Approximately 250,000 households in over 300 markets were surveyed through the corporation’s Ticker Survey, the nation’s largest and most comprehensive study of its kind.
“This award is a direct result of the dedication and quality care that our employees, physicians and volunteers provide to our community,” said Oscar L. Amparan, president of Texas Health Fort Worth and executive vice president of Texas Health Resources. “We are grateful that the residents of Tarrant and surrounding counties continue to choose Texas Health Fort Worth as the provider of choice for their health care needs.”
The Consumer Choice Award provides a benchmark for consumers to show how important quality healthcare is to them and to their families, said Susan L. Henricks, president and chief operating officer of National Research Corporation.
“Consumers are taking a more proactive role in their healthcare decisions and demanding higher quality,” Henricks said. “At NRC, we know it is imperative to learn from the patient’s experience in order to improve the quality of care. The Consumer Choice Award recognizes those facilities that are meeting or exceeding the needs of consumers — their patients.”
