Harris Methodist Fort Worth Named Consumer Choice Award Winner For 13th Consecutive Year|
FORT WORTH, Texas — Quality and image — two key things people remember after a hospital visit — are benchmarks that area residents praised Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital (HMFW) for in the annual National Research Corporation survey and 2008-09 Consumer Choice Award.
Based on those benchmarks, consumers in the Fort Worth area have chosen Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital as a leader in health care for 13 consecutive years.
National Research Corporation (NRC), a leader in health care performance measurement, recognizes hospitals annually on quality and image attributes, including: best doctors, best nurses, best overall quality and best image and reputation.
“Year after year, our employees, volunteers and physicians on our medical staff help make Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital among the best in health care in Fort Worth,” said Oscar L. Amparan, president of Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital and executive vice president of Texas Health Resources. “This distinguished honor is praise for their dedication in providing excellent care, and it is a reflection of our hospital’s commitment to improving the health of the communities we serve.
“We are grateful that the residents of Tarrant and surrounding counties continue to choose Harris as the provider of choice for their health care needs."
From the 200,000 households surveyed, representing more than 400,000 consumers, Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital was one of 3,200 hospitals in 250 markets to receive the award. NRC President Ginny Martin said winners are determined by the company’s annual Healthcare Market Guide Study (HCMG), the nation’s largest and most comprehensive study of its kind.
“Consumers continue to be empowered to make decisions for themselves and their families when selecting their health care facilities and services,” Martin said. “As consumer perception of quality grows in importance, many hospitals are dedicating more resources to quality and safe care for patients. The hospitals who are our 2008-09 Consumer Choice Award winners exemplify the dedication it takes to provide quality and safe health care, and we are pleased to honor them through the eyes of their patients.”
