Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital Named 'Best Place to Have a Baby' 11/26/2008
FORT WORTH, Texas — When it comes to having babies, readers of Fort Worth
Child magazine turn to Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital first.
For the 15th consecutive year, the hospital has been voted the "best place to have a
baby" and "best place for parent and baby classes" in the magazine’s
“Best for Families” 2008 readers’ survey.
“We are very pleased that mothers in the Fort Worth area continue to trust Harris
Methodist Fort Worth Hospital with their deliveries,” said Amy Hailey, director of
women and infant services. “This honor can be credited to our nurses, employees and
doctors on the medical staff who are committed to providing excellent care.”
Having delivered more than 300,000 babies since the hospital first opened in 1930, HMFW is
the regional referral center for high-risk deliveries in Tarrant and surrounding counties.
It is one of only two hospitals in Texas participating in a major, new safety initiative to
change how U.S. hospitals treat high-risk pregnancies. Throughout the 21-month national
collaborative, called the Premier Perinatal Safety Initiative, the hospital is among 16 of
the country's leading hospitals working to redefine perinatal care and eliminate
preventable birth injuries.
