Texas Health Azle Names New Director of Radiology|
AZLE, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle administrators appointed Carrie Shirley as the new director of radiology. Shirley brings 22 years of radiology experience to the position including knowledge of nuclear medicine, ultrasound, vascular ultrasound, mammography, computed tomography, C-arm surgery and quality management.
“I’m so proud to be part of the Texas Health Resources system and to accept this leadership role,” Shirley said. “I look forward to growing and providing care to all the patients we serve. This is a great community and a great hospital, and I’m very appreciative of the opportunity to serve in this capacity.”
Shirley has served the hospital’s radiology department since 1996 as the team leader. She was appointed interim manager in July, overseeing scheduling, budget, equipment orders, and other daily operations of the department. Prior to joining Texas Health, Shirley was the radiology team leader at Hereford Regional Hospital in Hereford, Texas, from 1989-96.
Shirley received an associate’s degree of applied science from Amarillo College in Amarillo, Texas, in 1989. She is a member of Weatherford College’s Ultrasound Advisory Committee and Radiology Program Advisory Committee. She is certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and Registered Vascular Sonographer.
