Spinal Care Program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth Receives Top Rating|
FORT WORTH, Texas — For individuals needing spinal surgery, there is good news from Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth.
The hospital was recently designated as a UnitedHealth Premium Surgical Spine specialty center. Texas Health Southwest received a quality assessment result of three stars, the highest possible rating.
The UnitedHealth Premium designation program is part of United Healthcare. The designation is based on detailed information about a hospital’s specialized training, practice capabilities and outcomes, and recognizes centers that meet or exceed nationally recognized medical standards. UnitedHealth awards the designations to benefit individuals needing surgical spinal care.
It is the first such award for the hospital. Texas Health Southwest is one of just 26 hospitals in Texas to receive this designation, and one of only three in Tarrant County.
“We are committed to providing the best possible care to people in the communities we serve,” said Brett McClung, president of Texas Health Southwest. “This title is a reflection of the physicians and nurses at Texas Health Southwest, and their dedication to meeting and exceeding nationally-recognized standards of care. We are honored to receive this designation from UnitedHealthcare.”
The hospital has earned a variety of awards recently. This year, Texas Health Southwest was one of 263 hospitals in the nation to win the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award. In 2011, Healthgrades recognized the hospital for Outstanding Patient Experience and for excellence in Pulmonary Care. Texas Health Southwest also is an accredited acute heart failure center and a certified chest pain center.
Texas Health Southwest is a participating hospital in the UnitedHealthcare network, but is not owned or otherwise affiliated in any way with UnitedHealthcare.
