Pathway to Excellence Designation Given to Texas Health Harris Methodist Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth 11/07/2012
FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth was recently awarded the prestigious Pathway to Excellence® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
This designation recognizes a healthcare organization's commitment to creating a positive nursing practice environment. To qualify, organizations meet 12 standards the ANCC considers essential to creating an ideal nursing practice environment, including a focus on collaboration, career development, and accountable leadership to empower nurses. The Pathway designation means nurses can trust the institution to respect their contributions, support their professional development, and nurture optimal work settings.
Texas Health Southwest is one of only 55 hospitals in Texas, and one of just 17 in the North Texas area, to have earned this recognition from the nurses credentialing center.
“We place a lot of importance on making sure our nurses have the opportunity to excel both when they are with our patients and in their careers,” said Mary Robinson, the hospital’s chief nursing officer. “The Pathway designation confirms that we are fulfilling that goal, and means that our patients can expect excellent care from the nurses at Texas Health Southwest. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment.”
