Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth Achieves National Recognition for Quality Respiratory Care

FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) from the American Association for Respiratory Care.

To achieve this honor, the hospital delivered respiratory care consistent with national standards as defined by QRCR requirements. 15 percent of hospitals nationwide have applied for and achieved this honor. This is Texas Health Southwest’s fourth year in a row to earn the award.

“This achievement signifies our commitment to delivering quality care to our patients,” said Fraser Hay, professional services officer at Texas Health Southwest. “Maintaining an environment of excellence is a top priority in every aspect of care we provide.”

QRCR, started by the American Association of Respiratory Care in 2003, is a national program geared toward helping patients and their families make informed decisions regarding the quality of respiratory care they receive. Hospitals earning the QRCR designation ensure patient safety by adhering to AARC guidelines on respiratory care and, as a result, provide care consistent with national standards and guidelines.

The AARC is a membership organization representing more than 50,000 health professionals involved in respiratory care nationwide.
