It’s almost back to school time and therefore it is time for the Shots for Tots program to kick back into high gear.

In 2009, the Shots for Tots program provide immunizations for nearly 7,500 children in Johnson County.

Shots for Tots is a program of the Black & White Gala Committee. Other programs of the Gala include Mammograms are a Must and Know Your PSA.

The 2010 Black & White Gala, which also raises funds for Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne programs, will be held Saturday, Aug. 7 at the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth.

Johnson County immunization clinic locations and times are:

• Tuesday, Aug. 3: Fulton Education Center, 311 Featherston(enter building on Prairie St.), Cleburne
  9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.
• Monday, Aug. 9: Loflin Middle School, 6801 FM 1902, Joshua
  9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Wednesday, Aug. 11: Keene High School cafeteria, 404 Charger Drive, Keene
  9 a.m. to noon
• Thursday, Aug. 12: Alvarado Middle School, 1000 N. Cummings Dr., Alvarado
  9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 19: Venus Civic Center, 210 S. Walnut, Venus
  9:30 a.m. to noon
• Friday, Aug. 20: Alvarado Elementary South, 1000 E. Davis (FM 1807), Alvarado
  9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Parents should bring their child’s shot record. Appointments are not required, but clinics are expected to be crowded.

Daily clinics are also available at the Texas Department of State Health Services, 108-B East Kilpatrick, Cleburne. An appointment is required at the daily clinic. To make an appointment, please call 817-517-2306.
